Baptisms

Baptism is a meaningful and memorable occasion, a sacrament of our faith symbolized by the pouring out of water.

Through the Sacrament of Baptism, we are initiated into Christ's holy Church. We are incorporated into God's mighty acts of salvation and given new birth through water and the Spirit. All this is God's gift, offered to us without price.

Who should be baptized?

People of all ages can be baptized at Cross Winds.  We baptize by sprinkling Holy Water and making the sign of the cross on the forehead invite the presence of the Holy Spirit. We recognize baptisms from other faiths and churches and therefore do not re-baptize people.

When do baptisms occur?

Baptisms occur during all worship services on Sundays throughout the year. Baptisms are generally not scheduled on the first Sunday of any month due to Communion, but exceptions can be made for special family circumstances.

How do I schedule a baptism?

If you are new to Cross Winds, we invite you to attend a baptism workshop offered on the third Sunday of the month at 9am or schedule a meeting with our pastor.  If you are familiar with the practice of baptism at Cross Winds, you may simply fill out an online registration request form and our pastor will help get the baptism scheduled accordingly.

After you submit a request form for your Baptism, you will receive additional instructions by email and be contacted by a member of our pastoral team to discuss your baptism and walk through the logistics a few weeks prior to the date.
