Cross Winds Youth

Students in 6th-12th Grade

Our Mission

Cross Winds Youth are committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and Jesus-centered community where everyone can live out their faith.

You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’  This is the greatest and first commandment. A second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’    Matthew 22: 37– 39

What We Offer

We offer Christian community for students to grow in their faith, friendships, service, and leadership. Students are given time to develop Christian relationships with their peers and have the gift of building mentoring relationships with caring Christian adults, including our pastor. We aim to provide a space and place for students to be known and to develop their gifts for the transformation of the world. During the school year we gather weekly on Wednesdays for meals, classes, and fellowship. On Sunday mornings there are opportunities to serve through worship leadership, Sunday School, and hospitality Throughout the year, we have regular off-site service opportunities to make a difference in our greater community, seasonal social events, and summer camp trips.

Confirmation

School year, Wednesday evenings. Starting at 6:30pm, all 6th – 8th grade students are invited to hang out with friends and play games. Classes then take place from 7:00pm – 8:00pm.

6th grade – Pre-confirmation students will have the opportunity for games, teaching time, and 6th grade small groups. Twice a month, classes are led by adult volunteers. Once a month there are service projects & extra game time offered. Once a month, students have mentor nights where they are partnered with high school students for activities.

Confirmation (7th – 8th grade) – Confirmation is the time during a student’s life when they claim faith for themselves by confirming the promises made at their baptisms by their family. Through Confirmation, students can explore their faith by asking questions, digging deeper, serving others, and learning more about Jesus and the Church. They will journey alongside committed adult mentors and a small group of their peers. At the end of Confirmation, they will be invited to make a public commitment to Christ and become a full member of our church community.
